BritView.uk is published by Calpe Press Ltd., a private company limited by shares registered in Gibraltar (company number 129044), with its registered office at Unit 5, The Watergardens, Waterport Road, Gibraltar GX11 1AA. The publication is editorially independent of its ownership, and all editorial decisions rest solely with the Editor-in-Chief and the editorial team.
Who is responsible for the editorial policy and the content we publish?
The Editor-in-Chief, Jonathan Crawford, holds ultimate responsibility for all editorial policy, content quality, publication decisions, and adherence to the standards set out on this page. He oversees corrections, source review, and ensures that every piece published meets BritView.uk’s commitment to factual accuracy and editorial independence.
Day-to-day editorial planning and workflow are managed by Rebecca Marsh, Managing Editor. The Standards & Fact-Checking Lead, Oliver Reeves, operates independently within the newsroom to verify sources, review sensitive stories, and oversee the corrections process. All named editors and correspondents are listed on our Our Team page, and each article carries the byline of the journalist primarily responsible for its content.
How do we distinguish between news, opinion, features and sponsored content?
BritView.uk maintains a clear and explicit separation between reporting, analysis, opinion, and commercial content. News articles are factual accounts of events, verified through multiple sources. Opinion pieces are clearly labelled as “Opinion” or “Comment” and represent the views of the named author, not the publication. Features are in-depth, researched articles that may include analysis but remain grounded in verified fact.
Sponsored content and commercial partnerships are labelled with a prominent “Sponsored” or “Paid Partnership” designation at the top of the article. Affiliate links are disclosed in accordance with UK advertising regulations. The commercial team has no influence over editorial conclusions, and no payment or sponsorship can guarantee coverage. Full details are available in our Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure and Sponsored Content Policy.
What is our editorial process from pitch to publication?
Every article published by BritView.uk follows a structured editorial workflow. Story ideas are commissioned or assigned by the Managing Editor or the relevant section editor. Writers submit drafts with full source attribution. The editor reviews the piece for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to style. The Standards & Fact-Checking Lead, Oliver Reeves, reviews sensitive stories, verifying quotes, data, and named sources before publication.
Once approved, the article is formatted, headline options are reviewed by an editor, and the piece is scheduled. After publication, all articles remain editable for corrections, which are documented transparently in accordance with our Corrections Policy. No content is published without review by at least one named human editor.
How do we ensure article-level transparency?
Each article on BritView.uk carries a byline linking to the author’s biography on the Our Team page, a publication date, and, where relevant, a correction or update notice at the top of the piece. Sources are named wherever possible, and material from wire services or agencies is clearly credited. If a piece includes predictive elements or speculation, this is explicitly stated.
For any article that involves a potential conflict of interest — such as coverage of a commercial partner, an advertiser, or an editor’s external interest — a disclosure is added to the article. Our Ownership & Funding page provides full details on the company behind BritView.uk and how its commercial operations are structured.
What is our policy on artificial intelligence and automation?
BritView.uk permits the use of digital tools for research, editing, formatting, translation, metadata generation, headline options, summaries, and transcription. All such tools are used under human supervision. No AI system is permitted to fabricate quotes, sources, interviews, bylines, author experience, or expert profiles. Every piece of editorial content published is reviewed by a human editor before it appears on the site.
Where AI has been used in the production of an article — for example, in generating a first draft of a transcript summary or suggesting headline variations — this is disclosed in the article’s metadata and, if significant, in an editorial note. Our full policy is detailed in our AI & Automation Policy.
What should I do if I have a complaint or wish to request a correction?
If you believe an article contains an error, breaches editorial standards, or requires correction, please contact our Standards & Fact-Checking Lead, Oliver Reeves, at corrections@britview.uk or use our general complaints@britview.uk address. All complaints are acknowledged within two working days and investigated by the editorial team. The outcome, including any correction or clarification, is published in the article itself and recorded in our corrections log.
For serious breaches of editorial standards, the complaint may be escalated to the Editor-in-Chief, Jonathan Crawford. Our full procedure, including escalation routes and timelines, is set out in our Complaints Procedure.
